If you have any questions please pick up the phone and have a chat with one of the team. Not only are we very nice people who know a thing or two about our tours but you will get all the info you need (and more!) a lot quicker. Plus you will get the chance to understand our accents.
Here’s the magic number: +353 (0) 1672 7651 or if you are calling within the UK 08450 267 507
It’s a local rate number so shouldn’t cost too much but we can even call you back to save you spending your beer money.
If you are in Dublin you can pop into the office and meet the team:
Kinlay House
2/12 Lord Edward Street
Dublin 2
Ireland
Our office hours are 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.
If you absolutely must email (we get quite a few!) we may be able to answer your question without the need to write. Check out our list of frequently asked questions below (Click on the question to reveal the answer).
If your question is not there, it was either a very silly one or we need to add it to the list!
You can email us by completing the enquiry form below and choosing a subject for your email (please include a contact phone number so we can call you - it may be quicker to call you than replying to your email). It can take 48-72 hours for us to reply, so if you want a quick answer, pick up the phone!
The price of tours covers transportation around Irelan, your Irish tour guide and specified attractions. We also reserve all accommodation whilst on tour so a bed is guaranteed. Accommodation should be paid for on arrival at each hostel. Hostel prices are approximately Euro 18- 22 per night with breakfast.
We know that there are some "must see" attractions while you are in Ireland and to make it easier for you we have included these main attractions in our tours. (please see "free stuff" on tour page for more information)
Food can really be as cheap or as expensive as you want it to be. All the hostels have self-catering facilities if you wish to cook for yourself and there is plenty of opportunity to eat out at local pubs and cafes.
Unlike others, we are not tied exclusively to any hostel chain, so are free to select the very best hostels. We choose places packed full of character and only use quality independent and Youth Hostel Association hostels. We guarantee dorm bed accommodation on all our tours.
Some of the hostels we use do have private (double/twin) rooms but these are limited and dependent on availability. Hostel private rooms cost approximately Euro 27 - 40 per person per night.
We can also make B&B bookings. These are again dependent on availability and the price is around Euro 40 – 60 per person per night. Any B&B bookings made must be honoured and credit card details will be required.
NB: All accommodation requests must be made to us direct and at least 7 days before the departure date.
A sleeping bag is not required as all hostels provide linen but it is a good idea to bring a towel.
Check-in for all our tours is 8.15am on the morning of departure at the Shamrocker Adventures office. Tours will usually return to the Shamrocker Adventures office around 5.30pm.
The minimum age on all tours is 18. The majority of our passengers are in the 18-35 age bracket but there is no maximum age. As long as you are reasonably fit and have a good sense of fun, we are sure you will have a fantastic time!
We don’t, however we can provide information about clean, cheap and friendly hostels close to your departure point.
As much time as possible. The aim of our tours is to get you out and about and to actually experience the country you’re in. We’ll take you for walks, to explore castles, explain local myths and legends and tell you about our often turbulent history.
Whilst we regularly get couples and friends travelling together, every tour has a number of people travelling on their own and from the first day onwards you’ll have made a whole bunch of new friends!
Occasionally we do have more than one departure each day so it is not guaranteed that you will be on the same bus if bookings are made separately. This can however be easily arranged by contacting us directly prior to your departure date.
Tipping: Tipping is not compulsory. If you'd like to recognise great service then please feel free to do so. 100% of tips are retained by our team - not the company. [We are often asked 'How much?' - around €1-2 / day on average - but feel free to tip as little, as much or not at all as you feel appropriate.]
Great savings can be made if you hold a ISIC or ISE card on all our tours. Make sure you let us know at the time of booking and the discount will be applied. You will need to show this card when you check in for any of our tours. If you do not produce this at checkin you will be charged the difference between the normal brochure price and the discounted price in addition to an administration fee of £25. To purchase your ISE card click on the ad below and start saving now!
