Below we've listed the options available for travel from London, but don't hesitate to let us know if you're travelling from other places, we're sure to be able to help out! Coach and rail travel, and even flights are possible from larger UK cities. You'll find the contact numbers and access to the websites for these below.
View Larger MapHome for Shamrocker is in the centre of Dublin in Kinlay House Hostel on Lord Edward Street. Lord Edward Street is a continuation of Dame Street. From the main gates at Trinity College walk straight up Dame Street past City Hall and Dublin Castle on your left and you will see the signs for Kinlay House on your right. We're about 15-20 minutes from the main bus and train station. Dublin International Airport is around 30-45 minutes bus/taxi ride from the city centre, and our office.
Transport from the Airport
Aircoach Provides a 24-hour service between the airport and the city with departures every 15 minutes from 05:00 until midnight and hourly from midnight until 05:00. Timetables can be viewed and tickets can be purchased online at www.aircoach.ie or from the driver when boarding. The cost is €7.00 one-way and €12.00 return.
Airlink Operates to and from the airport approximately every 20 minutes and is €6.00 each way. Jump on either bus number 747 and alight at Trinity College or number 748 and alight at Aston Quay - both are a 10 minute walk from Kinlay House Hostel and check-in for your tour is in Kinlay House reception. Dublin Bus This is the most economical means of transport into the city. Take either the 46A or 16A and alight at Trinity College. Kinlay House hostel is a 10 minute walk along Lord Edward Street and check-in for your tour is in their reception area. The cost is €1.90 each way. Note, correct change is required.
A Taxi from Dublin International Airport to the city centre will cost between €25-€35 depending on traffic and will take approximately 30-40 minutes.
Transport from Dun Laoghaire Ferryport
DART Dublin's train service operates a service from Dun Laoghaire Dart Station to Tara Street Station in the city centre. From the station it is about a 15 minute walk to Kinlay House and check-in for your tour is in their reception. Visit www.irishrail.ie for further details and timetable information.
Dublin Bus Take the 46A bus into the City centre and alight at Suffolk Street. The cost is €1.90 each way. Note, correct change is required.
