Here’s a few of our Guides and their ‘Wow’ Moments – the reasons why they love their job!
Every week is different, but walking down O Connell Street in Dublin with the crew and over 200 of our group in the People’s Parade is one. or another I will always remember, is sitting looking out over the Atlantic Ocean with a group of basking sharks below me… it was poetry in motion.
Climbing up to Dun Aengus and peering over the 100 metre cliff at the mighty Atlantic below; crossing Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, despite a fear of heights; watching musicians gather for impromptu music sessions in various pubs and of course catching sight of a leprechaun skipping across the Burren!
Visiting a lovely Irish pub in Ennis and watching a folk band 'Socks in the Frying Pan'. I was truly taken aback at this group of guys having so much fun playing together, I had no idea that traditional music could be that amazing. It was at that moment I said to myself, 'this is what we Irish are all about'.
Hiking to the black fort on Inis Mor, sitting on the edge of the cliffs there surrounded by this immense ancient fortress I was practically transported back in time to an era when warriors ruled Ireland. Sitting there with just of the sound of the waves crashing against the cliffs all I could think was 'Wow!'
